What is dual training?
Dual Vocational Training combines learning processes in the company and at the centre through the cooperation of training centres and companies.
The training completed by students in the company must be closely related to the professional profile of the training course and the planned specializations. This means that, in addition to achieving productive results, these hands-on experience enables learning and, ultimately, the acquisition of work-related skills, those of the specialization itself, and other transversal skills useful for improving employability.
With this type of training, students:
- Learn in real-life work situations, gaining extensive professional experience.
- Receive wages proportional to the length of work according to the contract or agreement and begin their working life paying contributions to Social Security.
- Improve their employability.
Requirements:
- Students enrolled in Vocational Training are eligible to participate.
- In the case of dual training that involves a job contract, you must be unemployed and registered as an active job seeker. In the case of dual training that does not involve a job contract, it is advisable to be registered as an active job seeker. Foreigners with a residence permit based on training roots may be registered as seeking pre-employment services at the time of starting training, but not as job seekers.
- There is no age limit for the contract-linked option.
- There is no age limit for the scholarship option.
Selection criteria:
Favourable report from the correspondent teaching staff based on competency and suitability criteria:
- Good academic performance
- Attendance at class activities at the vocational training center
- Personal skills.
